At Formula S7, Earth Day isn't just a date on the calendar, it's a reflection of our daily commitment to intertwining fashion with sustainability. Our journey began with a simple yet profound question: Can we express ourselves through style without harming the environment? This curiosity led us to challenge industry norms and embrace the possibilities offered by the circular economy.
🌱 What Is Earth Day?
Earth Day, celebrated every year on April 22nd, is a global movement dedicated to raising awareness and taking action to protect our planet. Since its first celebration in 1970, it has grown into the world’s largest environmental campaign, uniting over a billion people to support initiatives like climate action, reforestation, pollution reduction, and conscious consumerism. It’s a reminder that our individual choices, no matter how small, can lead to powerful collective impact.
🌿 Our Commitment to Sustainable Fashion
Every piece we create is a testament to our dedication to ethical practices and environmental consciousness. From sourcing eco-friendly materials to ensuring quality craftsmanship, we strive to produce unique, long-lasting garments that resonate with individuality and care for the planet. We believe fashion should be expressive, not exploitative and we're here to make that possible.
💚 Gratitude to Our Community
We are immensely grateful to our community, every customer, collaborator, and supporter who shares our vision. Your engagement, whether through purchases, feedback, or sharing our mission, fuels our drive to innovate and grow. Each interaction, big or small, contributes to a more sustainable and expressive fashion landscape.
♻️ What Sustainability Looks Like at Formula S7
At Formula S7, sustainability isn't a trend, it's the foundation of everything we do.
-
Eco-Friendly Materials: We choose certified organic cotton, recycled polyester, deadstock fabrics, and repurposed textiles to keep waste out of landfills and reduce our need for virgin materials.
You’ll notice certifications listed in our product descriptions and highlights. Each one represents our commitment to transparency, safety, and sustainability:
- OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 – Ensures that every component of the product (from threads to dyes) has been tested and found free from harmful levels of over 100 substances known to be hazardous to human health.
- Global Recycled Standard (GRS) – Verifies that the recycled content in our fabrics meets strict environmental and social criteria throughout the production process, from sourcing to labeling.
- Organic Content Standard (OCS) and Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) – These certify that the organic fibers in our textiles are responsibly sourced and processed without toxic chemicals, with GOTS also covering ethical labor practices.
- PETA-Approved Vegan – Confirms that no animal products or by-products were used in the making of our materials, and that our products are cruelty-free.
- CPSIA Compliant Inks – Inks used in our printed items meet the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act standards, ensuring they are safe, non-toxic, and suitable for all ages.
These certifications reflect our deeper promise: creating fashion that looks good, feels good, and does good. Every choice we make is part of our mission to offer you stylish, ethical fashion with a lighter impact on the planet.
- Zero-Waste Mindset: From production to packaging, we embrace a zero-waste philosophy. Many of our accessories, like scrunchies and headbands, are handmade from leftover fabric scraps.
- Made-to-Order and Limited Runs: We reject overproduction. Our made-to-order model and one-of-a-kind creations ensure each item has a home, preventing excess inventory and textile waste.
- Eco-Alliance Packaging: Your order is shipped in 100% recycled packaging, because looking good shouldn't come at the cost of the environment. Even better, for every order we place on our packaging materials, trees are planted in areas in need of reforestation.
-
Ethical Labor Practices: At Formula S7, ethics are sewn into every stitch. Our handmade and upcycled designs are lovingly crafted in-house by our Founder & Creative Director. Beyond our studio, we collaborate with small-batch production teams and local artisans who are paid fair wages and work in safe, supportive environments. We believe that the people behind our pieces matter just as much as the product itself and that’s why transparency is one of our top priorities.
We also ensure that our global suppliers share these same values. Our key supplier is a proud member of SEDEX (Supplier Ethical Data Exchange), an organization that enables businesses to operate responsibly and sustainably by improving working conditions in global supply chains. SEDEX membership means they undergo rigorous audits and assessments focused on labor rights, health and safety, environmental practices, and business ethics.
In addition, many of the manufacturers we work with are aligned with leading ethical and sustainability-focused organizations, including:
- Fair Wear Foundation – An independent non-profit that works with brands, factories, and workers to improve labor conditions in garment factories across the globe.
- Textile Exchange – A global non-profit that focuses on minimizing the harmful impacts of the textile industry and maximizing positive effects through responsible fiber and material sourcing.
- Sonoma Clean Power – A public electricity provider in California that offers cleaner electricity generated from renewable sources, ensuring our supply partners reduce their carbon footprint.
- Organic Trade Association (OTA) – Advocates for organic production practices, helping ensure our organic textiles meet strict standards from seed to finished product.
-
Green America – A national organization that supports green businesses and promotes environmental sustainability, social justice, and ethical consumerism.
By working with partners who are equally committed to people and the planet, we make sure that every Formula S7 piece is not only stylish, but consciously made. We’re proud to support a fashion industry that uplifts workers, protects the environment, and brings you pieces you can feel really good about wearing.
-
Inclusivity and Slow Fashion: Our inclusive sizing and thoughtful designs prioritize comfort, confidence, and conscious consumption. We’re not here to chase trends, we’re here to help you define your style, sustainably.
Every stitch, print, and product is rooted in our mission: to create playful, intentional fashion that empowers individuality and minimizes environmental harm.
As we celebrate Earth Day, we invite you to keep making thoughtful fashion choices, whether it's rewearing a favorite piece, supporting a small sustainable brand, or simply spreading the word. The planet will thank you and so do we.
Dare to Make an Impact.
